Dass man sich in Frain an der Thaya die zusätzliche Attraktion für den Fremdenverkehr nicht entgehen ließ, ist verständlich. Und die riesige Wassserfläche schrie geradezu danach, Ausflüge mit Schiffen anzubieten oder mit privaten Booten befahren zu werden.
Das Bild rechts wurde mir von Herrn G. Marsch zur Verfügung gestellt und zeigt seinen 1944 gefallenen Onkel Johann Schneider, der nach 1938 mit Booten auf dem Stausee von Frain an der Thaya unterwegs war.

Das Boot soll 1939 nach Frain gekommen sein und vom Starnberger See in Bayern stammen.
Das Bild unten rechts entstand im Mai 1990 und zeigt die Flotte von Frain. Der Bootsbetrieb wurde eingestellt, da man Angst hatte, mit den dieselbetriebenen Motoren die Trinkwasserversorgung der an der Thaya gelegenen Gemeinden zu gefährden.

That one did not let the additional attraction escape in Frain at the Thaya-river for the tourism is understandable. And the gigantic area of water almost shouted after offering excursions with ships or to be used with private boats.
The picture to the right became me of G. Marsch set to availably and shows his 1944 fallen uncle Johann Schneider that was on the artificial lake of Frain after 1938 with boats at the Thaya-river on the way.

The boat is supposed to have come in 1939 to Frain and come allegedly from the Starnberger lake in Bavarians.
The picture below to the right arose in May 1990 and the fleet points from Frain. The boat company was stopped, since one was afraid, to endanger the drinking water supply of the municipalities sited at the Thaya-river with the diesel practiced engines.
