Da ich mir die laut Programm gebotene Gelegenheit, das Kraftwerk Vranov nad Dyji/Frain an der Thaya zu besichtigen, nicht entgehen lassen wollte und für die gesamte Wanderung aber zu faul war, fuhr ich gemeinsam mit meiner Mutter mit meinem Auto her und traf mich hier mit der Gruppe.

On 3rd October 2004 the austrian national park Thayatal organized an excursion of Hardegg at the Thaya to Vranov nad Dyji/Frain at the Thaya, led  by Mr. Weitschacher from the national park.
There I me the occasion offered according to program to visit the Vranov nad Dyji/Frain power station at the Thaya not to escape wanted to let and for the entire excursion, however, too rotten was, I went together here with my mother with my car and met here the group.

Hier sehen wir die drei Generatoren, mit deren Hilfe aus dem Wasser der Thaya elektrischer Strom erzeugt wird.

Angetrieben werden diese Generatoren von Francis-Turbinen.

Die senkrecht stehende Achse verbindet den oben befindlichen Generator mit der tiefer gelegenen Turbine.

Bei der Francis-Turbine gelangt das vorbeiströmende Wasser durch einen ringförmigen Leitapparat an die Schaufeln des Laufrades und fließen von dort in einem Saugrohr, das sich in der Verlängerung der Achse befindet, ab.

Je nach der zur Verfügung stehenden Wassermenge kann die Stellung der Schaufeln des Leitapparates verstellt werden. Hier geschieht dies hydraulisch  mit dem gelben Zylinder rechts, der das kugelförmige Gebilde verdreht und so die Leitschaufeln verstellt.

At the Francis turbine the water flowing past reaches through a ring-shaped leading-apparatus onto the shovels of the running wheel and flow of there in a suction pipe that is in the prolongation of the axis.
According to the available water amount the position of the shovels of the leading-apparatus can be moved. Here this happens hydraulically to the right to the yellow coil which twists the ball-shaped thing and moves the vanes so.

Bei einem Speicherkraftwerk wie diesem geschieht das allerdings nur, um Verbrauchsspitzen beim Bedarf an elektrischer Energie zu decken ("Spitzenstrom").

In der Trafostation wird die gewonnene elektrische Energie auf 110 kv hochtransformiert, um möglichst verlustfrei über Fernleitungen in das öffentliche Netz eingespeist zu werden.

In the transformer station the gained electric vigor on 110 kv is transformed highly in order to be entered into the public net as without any loss as possible above long-distance lines.

Die Maschinenhalle von oben: An der Decke der Halle (2 Stockwerke) hängen drei kugelförmige Lampen. Interessieren würde mich nur, wer die kaputten Glühbirnen auswechseln darf und mit welchem Aufwand.
