Hauptplatz mit Markt (Mai 2003)

Der große Hauptplatz Masarykovo Nam von Znojmo / Znaim an der Thaya.

Im Vordergrund der Markt, auf dem Bauern und wohl auch Kleingärtner Obst, Gemüse und Pflanzen zum Verkauf anbieten.

An der Nordseite wird er abgeschlossen durch ein Kaufhaus aus der Zeit des Kommunismus, dahinter erhebt sich der mächtige Rathausturm.

The big main place Masarykovo Nam of Znojmo / Znaim at the Thaya.
In the front the market, on the farmer and presumably also fruit allotment holder, vegetable and plants for the sale offer.
At the north side it is finished by a department store from the time of the communism, behind that the powerful city hall tower rises.

Links ein Foto aus unseligen Zeiten, als der Hauptplatz "Adolf-Hitler-Platz" hieß und grausliche Fahnen den Platz schmückten. Aber wenigstens stand damals noch das alte Rathaus und nicht der hässliche Kasten von Kaufhaus.

Offenbar bin ich im Jahr 2003 ziemlich genau am gleichen Platz gestanden wie damals der Fotograf zur Zeit der Nazi-Herrschaft.

Die historische Ansichtskarte habe ich von einer Auktionsseite kopiert.

To the left a photograph from unblissful times, than the main place "Adolf Hitler place" was called and horrible flags adorned the place. However, at least still the old city hall stood then and not the ugly box of department store.
Apparently I stood in the year 2003 quite exactly at the same place as then the photographer at this time of the Nazi domination.
